Elmer Williams

Louisiana artist Herman Ferrell was fortunate to find the Elmer Williams. The Elmer Williams is one of the oldest working shrimp boats, and one of the few Biloxi style boat hulls Ferrell had found. From what Ferrell had been told, this style shrimp boat was designed and built in Biloxi, Miss., thus, Biloxi hull. At one time In south Louisiana and all along the southern coastal states, a great number of these Biloxi hull shrimp boats and other fishing boats could be found.
