Herman Ferrell was born and raised in the placid Southeastern area of Louisiana. His talent in art was apparent at an early age. He spent many years mastering his art of light. Mother Nature provides a moment light which the Southern Artist Herman Ferrell captures in his paintings. His deep affection for the outdoors is reflected in his art work. South Louisiana's well known history, for it's Cajun country and sea food, which brings us to the wonderful character of the SHRIMP BOATS and other fishing boats of the area. The Cajuns and other fishermen along the Gulf of Mexico designed these boats to fish the shallow waters of the coast. The Suothern country scenery is from all around the south Louisiana and other Southern States. Old barns and old houses are like old shrimp boats, they provided families with a life, to live, love and die for. These homes, barns, fishing boats and shrimp boats have been passed down through generations.
